Summary of the Position: The Director of Marketing is responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, development and execution of an organization's marketing and advertising initiatives. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director of Marketing's primary responsibility is to generate revenue by increasing sales through successful marketing for the entire organization, using market research, pricing, product marketing, marketing communications, advertising and public relations.

As a senior-level marketing professional, this role must be both analytical and creative, and possess extensive knowledge in a variety of disciplines such as production, information technology, legal, regulatory and finance. The Director of Marketing often plans, directs and coordinates marketing budgets in accordance to organizational goals.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Set and achieve strategic goals related to social media metrics, television advertising and marketing campaign initiatives
  • Design, create and improve upon marketing campaigns for each aspect of our company
  • Negotiate compensation and project details for outside contractors related to marketing and promotions
  • Create and propagate an enthusiastic brand message that will resonate with our target demographic
  • Follow up with Executive Management on revenue reports, social media strategies and other components of the marketing program

  • Analyze the effect of the overall company strategies on marketing initiatives to align goals and visions.
  • Perform other assigned duties as may be required in meeting company objectives
  • Communicate effectively with other departments within the organization and function within a team environment.


Preferred Requirements:  

  • Worked with products in a competitive consumables category
  • Oversaw the marketing of a comprehensive product portfolio at varying stages of their life cycle
  • Simultaneously developed marketing strategies for branded and private label products
  • Lead the transition of a product or category of products coming off patent or other IP expiration
  • Worked closely with in-house creative team but also experience directing an outside agency to maximize investment
  • Oversaw marketing strategies for products sold across multiple retail channels and e-commerce platforms


Minimum Requirements:  

  • Strong leadership and project development skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Problem solving skills and strategic planning
  • Must have high level of digital marketing
  • Strong domestic and international experience
  • Must be analytical and creative

Education and Experience:  

Bachelor's Degree required; preferably in Marketing.  MBA is a plus

7+ years' experience in marketing and/or advertising in a managerial role
